UNIGOU REMOTE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

I. - GENERAL PROVISIONS

  1. The UNIGOU Program of Academic Internships – UNIGOU Remote (hereinafter referred to as “UNIGOU Remote Program”) is organized by the Institute of Czech-Brazilian Academic Cooperation – INCBAC s.r.o (hereinafter referred to as “INCBAC Institute”). It is established as an online international cooperation program in the context of the scientific, academic, and professional development of Brazilian university students or graduated professionals participating in the program (hereinafter referred to as “Participants”).
  2. INCBAC Institute is an independent organization acting in the interest of establishing viable academic, scientific, and cultural connections between the Czech Republic and Brazil. INCBAC Institute does not act on behalf of any governmental entity.
  3. Through the UNIGOU Remote Program, INCBAC Institute aims to strengthen Czech-Brazilian connections by encouraging the program Participants to take an opportunity to get new experience in an international academic environment, while extending their personal and professional horizons and helping to shape a more cooperative and enlightened future for the involved parties and nations.
  4. INCBAC Institute and the Participant identified in the submitted Registration Form of the UNIGOU Remote Program hereby agree that the Participant wants to participate in the UNIGOU Remote Program under the terms and conditions stated below.
  5. The Participant shall do his/her duties conscientiously to complete the UNIGOU Remote Program.

II. - UNIGOU REMOTE PROGRAM

  1. The Participant read and understood the “UNIGOU Remote Program 2026 Edital” (hereinafter referred to as “UNIGOU Remote Edital”) that he/she received by e-mail prior to submitting his/her registration for the UNIGOU Remote Program.
  2. The UNIGOU Remote Program is composed of three parts, namely:

 

A. Scientific Training;

B. Academic Collaboration;

C. Professional Webinars.

II.A - SCIENTIFIC TRAINING PART OF UNIGOU REMOTE PROGRAM
 
  1. All Participants of the UNIGOU Remote Program will be granted access to the Scientific Training part of the program, where they will be guided towards key aspects of academic development and improvement of their research skills and scientific publishing skills through an online teaching/learning platform.
  2. The Scientific Training consists of a set of online courses and assignments, with the maximum duration of 12 weeks. During this period, the Participants are welcomed to take the planned online courses and engage in the assignments according to the schedule that suits them the most (i.e., the schedule is flexible).
  3. It depends solely on each Participant to fully commit to the scheduled structure of the Scientific Training and benefit from this part of the UNIGOU Remote Program. The video lectures are not interactive, and assignments are elaborated independently by each Participant, without any supervision.
  4. The Scientific Training will be hosted on a third-party online platform for teaching/learning purposes. INCBAC Institute is not responsible neither for the terms and conditions of the hosting platform, nor for any potential complications related to accessing, using, or contacting the hosting platform.
  5. It is a sole responsibility of the Participant to have sufficient means and capabilities to properly follow the Scientific Training. These include, for instance, access to a computer, reliable internet connection, means to perform online research, write an article and other texts, ability to understand the program, and use the hosting platform. INCBAC Institute is not responsible for any potential complications arising from the Participant’s inability to follow the program.
  6. The outcomes of the Scientific Training include one article to be published in INCBAC official media. The article is elaborated solely by the Participant, following the information and knowledge acquired during the Scientific Training part of the program. The article will only be published if the Participant concludes the whole Scientific Training part of UNIGOU Remote Program.
  7. INCBAC Institute is not responsible for the content of the article, being the Participant the only one responsible for the content published in his/her article.
  8. The Participant hereby agrees to act on his/her best efforts to produce a trustworthy article, following the general principles, norms, and rules of scientific integrity, understanding that he/she is the only one responsible for any legal implications related to the content published under his/her name.
  9. INCBAC Institute commits to keep the article of the Participant published in INCBAC official media for at least two years. After this period, the article will remain at INCBAC official media for an unlimited period until i) the INCBAC hosting server has the capacity or ii) the Participant requests to remove it.
  10. INCBAC Institute will immediately remove the article of the Participant from INCBAC official media if the published material is in any way reported for its content. This applies regardless of the fulfilment of the aforementioned two-year period of publication.
  11. Upon completing the Scientific Training, the Participant will be entitled to receive a certificate of completion of the program. The certificate will contain personal data submitted by the participant during the registration for the UNIGOU Remote Program. The Certificate of Participation is issued by INCBAC Institute and it will be provided in electronic format only to the Participants who successfully finish the Scientific Training part of the UNIGOU Remote Program.
  12. The Scientific Training will be accessible for a limited period of time following the calendar specified in the UNIGOU Remote Edital, considering the duration of the program. The Participant will not be entitled to access the Scientific Training after the scheduled period. 
  13. If the Participant will not be able to complete the Scientific Training during the specified period for any reason, he/she understands neither to be eligible to receive the certificate, nor having the article published in INCBAC official media, nor receiving any refund of the Registration Fee.


II.A.2 – UNIGOU Remote Publication Scope

    1. Upon approval, the articles produced by participants of the UNIGOU Remote Program will be published through the official INCBAC media.
    2. INCBAC media includes a range of publications specifically designed to showcase the research work conducted by UNIGOU program participants.
    3. It shall be noted that the INCBAC media does not function as a traditional academic journal with an impact factor and the articles are not assigned with a publication number (such as ISSN, ISBN or DOI), given that it encompasses a broad range of areas and knowledge fields.
    4. The primary objectives of publishing in the INCBAC official media are as follows:
      4.1 To provide participants with the experience of preparing research articles that adhere to international standards.
      4.2 To offer a platform for showcasing participants’ work to a broader audience.
      4.3 To help participants enhance their academic skills in line with international academic practices.
    5. Although publications within INCBAC media are not assigned impact factors, they serve as valuable additions to participants’ academic portfolios:
      5.1 The publications demonstrate the participant’s ability to conduct and present research at an international level.
      5.2 All articles published in the INCBAC media are accessible online and can be referenced by other researchers, making high-quality work a crucial requirement for all authors.
    6. Participants are encouraged to explore more specific academic journals or magazines in their area of knowledge for formal submission of their research.
      6.1 If an article published in the INCBAC media is accepted by another journal, the participant is required to notify INCBAC.
      6.2 Upon such notification, the article will be removed from the INCBAC official media, as double publication of the same work is not advisable.
II.B - ACADEMIC COLLABORATION PART OF UNIGOU REMOTE PROGRAM

The Academic Collaboration part of the UNIGOU Remote Program provides selected students (see conditions on II.B.2. below) an opportunity to remotely cooperate with researchers of the Czech Republic (hereinafter referred to as “Supervisor”) and participate in their ongoing research and academic activities (hereinafter referred to as “Collaboration Topic”).

  1. The Academic Collaboration is based on a Collaboration Topic which can be selected by each Participant during the registration for the UNIGOU Remote Program. Each Participant can apply for two different Collaboration Topics. The available Collaboration Topics are listed at INCBAC Institute web pages.
  2. Due to the limited number of the Collaboration Topics, the applying students will undergo an online assessment process evaluating their language abilities, general skills, and motivation. Only selected Participants will be assigned to the Academic Collaboration part of the UNIGOU Remote Program. The assessment process is based on the results of online assessment tests and evaluation of Participant’s CV and motivation letter. The Participant will be invited to join the Academic Collaboration part of the UNIGOU Remote program only if he/she is selected by INCBAC Institute and by the Supervisor.
  3. If a Participant is not interested to join the Academic Collaboration part of the UNIGOU Remote Program, he/she does not need to select the Collaboration Topic(s) and/or undergo the selection process. It is possible to participate in the Scientific Training and Professional Webinars parts of the UNIGOU Remote Program, without applying for the Academic Collaboration part.
  4. Each Participant selected to join the Academic Collaboration will be guided by the Supervisor sheltering the related Collaboration Topics to join the proposed activities and contribute to the assigned tasks. Online means of communication will exclusively be used.
  5. INCBAC Institute will provide each Participant selected to take part in the Academic Collaboration a contact data of his/her supervisor (name and e-mail address) and provide general instructions on how to establish an initial contact, following the deadlines of UNIGOU Remote Program schedule specified in the UNIGOU Remote Edital, bearing in mind that INCBAC Institute does not undertake any responsibility for the development of communication between Participant and Supervisor nor for their responsivity to e-mail and other messages.
  6. Participants and Supervisors are individual parties acting on their own behalf and interests throughout the duration of the UNIGOU Remote Program. INCBAC Institute is not responsible for the development of cooperation between Participants and Supervisors, nor the scope of activities, outcomes, results, and fulfilment of expectations from either side.
  7. The Participant understands that INCBAC Institute is not responsible for the development of cooperation between Supervisor and Participant, acknowledging that the outcomes of such interaction depend exclusively on the parties involved, their personalities, and professional capacities. INCBAC Institute does not undertake nor share any responsibility for the relationship between Participant and Supervisor, nor for their behaviour towards online tools, frequency of online meetings, or other communication or follow-up of activities.
  8. The available Collaboration Topics published at INCBAC Institute web pages and their descriptions were provided directly by the Supervisors promoting each topic, including all related information. INCBAC Institute is not responsible for the accuracy of the descriptions of the Collaboration Topics.
  9. The Participant understands that some of the Collaboration Topics may be proposed on the basis of a general description in the scope of the typical activities developed by their Supervisors. In such cases, the specific focus of the Collaboration Topic may be tailored upon the beginning of the Academic Collaboration, on the basis of the actual needs of the supervisor and/or the actual profile, previous experience and skills of the selected Participant.
  10. Supervisors are fully responsible for the Collaboration Topic and its content. He/she has the right to adapt or change the content of the Collaboration Topic before as well as during the Academic Collaboration, as he/she deems appropriate.
  11. Supervisors are fully in charge of the activities related to the Collaboration Topic. They are entitled to set the schedule, requirements and tasks within the Collaboration Topic, while they can also calibrate the activities to the actual performance and capabilities of the selected Participant
  12. The Supervisor is entitled to delegate the guidance of the Participant to any of his/her colleagues or students from his/her group.
  13. Supervisors are the ones in charge of selecting the online communication tools/software to carry out the Academic Collaboration. It is the responsibility of the Participant to assure that he/she has access and is able to operate such tools/software in accordance with the Supervisor`s requirements.
  14. The Participant agrees to follow the instructions specified by the Supervisor related to the Academic Collaboration.
  15. The Participant agrees to respect any rules of protection of classified information, industrial secrets, and intellectual property and to maintain confidentiality about all facts related to the Academic Collaboration to the extent specified by the Supervisor, being responsible for covering any financial fees and fines charged due to their violation.
  16. The execution of the Collaboration Topic, any outcomes and results, any related publications, and any issues in the scope of the Academic Collaboration part of the UNIGOU Remote Program will be arranged solely between the Participant and the Supervisor and Supervisor’s University/Research Centre, being their responsibility to establish the conditions of the collaboration, to communicate and act in their best interests.
  17. In case of dissatisfaction with the Academic Collaboration, both Participant and Supervisor are entitled to terminate their collaboration following their own free-will, judgement and interests, regardless of the stage of the developed activities and fulfilment of tasks. Potential agreements and arrangements established between the Participant and Supervisor should be considered. INCBAC Institute does not have any power of intervention regarding the continuation of the Academic Collaboration, does not have any duty to provide the Participant any other Collaboration topic or any other Supervisor.
  18. Any reduction or extensions of the Academic Collaboration period must be discussed and agreed directly between Participant and Supervisor. INCBAC Institute has no power to interfere in the matter and will not get involved in such discussions.
  19. In the event of any conflicts related to the Academic Collaboration activities, its development, or generated outcomes, the matter will be addressed directly between the Participant and Supervisor and Supervisor’s University/Research Centre. INCBAC Institute will not and cannot interfere in any potential disputes between both parties.
  20. INCBAC Institute is not and cannot be a guarantor of the results or outcomes of the Academic Collaboration. INCBAC Institute cannot guarantee satisfaction of the Participant with the online meetings, cooperation with the Supervisor and fulfilment of Participant’s expectations related to the Collaboration Topic.
  21. At the end of the Academic Collaboration, the Participant shall prepare a poster summarizing the developed work to be published in INCBAC official media. It is the responsibility of the Participant to make sure that the content of the poster is in accordance with the activities developed during the Academic Collaboration. The Participant ensures that the poster is reviewed and approved for publication by the Supervisor. The Participant is responsible for submitting the electronic version of the poster to INCBAC Institute, respecting the terms established by INCBAC Institute.
  22. INCBAC Institute has no responsibility for unpredictable events that might affect the development of the Academic Collaboration, including life unforeseeable contingencies that might impact the ability of either Participant or Supervisor to communicate or cooperate on the Collaboration Topic. In such unlikely cases, the Academic Collaboration will be considered terminated regardless of the stage of its development under no refunding conditions.
  23. At the end of the Academic Collaboration, the Supervisors are requested to issue an Evaluation Letter, where they report relevant information related to the Participant’s performance during the Academic Collaboration part of the UNIGOU Remote program, bearing in mind that:
    1. INCBAC Institute will remind the Supervisor about the Evaluation Letter within two weeks prior to the end of the Academic Collaboration part of the UNIGOU Remote Program, following the schedule of the program specified in UNIGOU Remote Edital;
    2. The Participant must agree with the Supervisor on the exact date to obtain the Evaluation Letter, following the actual schedule of the Collaboration Topic;
    3. Considering the flexibility of the period of Collaboration Topics, the Participant is strongly encouraged to remind the Supervisor about the Evaluation Letter before the end of his/her participation in the Academic Collaboration;
    4. INCBAC Institute will not interfere in the arrangements regarding the Academic Collaboration Evaluation Letter, considering that they follow the schedule of the Collaboration Topic and personal arrangements between Supervisor and Participant;
    5. INCBAC Institute will not interfere in the content of the Evaluation Letter written by the Supervisor, considering that this matter regards exclusively to the Supervisor`s perception of the Participant and the results of the collaboration as a whole;
    6. The Participant will not obtain his/her Evaluation Letter in case that Participant and Supervisor fail to agree on the arrangements for sending the document or either part decides to interrupt the Academic Collaboration before the activities of the Collaboration Topic are completed.
  24. INCBAC Institute has no responsibility for unpredictable events that might affect the development of the Academic Collaboration, including life unforeseeable contingencies that might impact the ability of either Participant or Supervisor to communicate or cooperate on the Collaboration Topic. In such unlikely cases, the Academic Collaboration will be considered terminated regardless of the stage of its development under no refunding conditions.
II.C - PROFESSIONAL WEBINARS PART OF UNIGOU REMOTE PROGRAM
  1. All Participants of the UNIGOU Remote Program will be granted the possibility to subscribe to the Professional Webinars, which will be conducted by guests of INCBAC Institute and highly experienced professionals in the addressed subjects.
  2. The Professional Webinars consist of several online lectures targeting relevant topics related to the personal, professional, and academic development of Participants.
  3. The Professional Webinars will be hosted on a third-party online broadcast platform capable of transmitting live or recorded presentations of the lecturers targeting the selected topics. INCBAC Institute is not accountable for the terms and conditions of the hosting platform, nor for any potential complications related to accessing, using, or contacting the hosting platform.
  4. The selection of the online broadcast platforms to host the Professional Webinars concerns the availability of tools to be used by INCBAC Institute and it will follow the preferences of individual lecturers.
  5. INCBAC Institute cannot guarantee interactive access within the Professional Webinars, given the fact that the available features and tools highly depend on the number of interested Participants.
  6. INCBAC Institute reserves the right to request confirmation of interest to join the Professional Webinars from the Participant and his/her subscription to attend the webinars in advance. This will be done in order to estimate the size of the audience to be able to better select the online broadcast platform, tailor the content of the webinars, and enhance the features of the webinars.
  7. The topics and dates of the Professional Webinars will be published in INCBAC official media in advance and informed to the Participants. It is an obligation of the Participant to keep track of the schedule, if he/she is interested in attending the Professional Webinars. The Participants will be instructed on how to confirm their interest to join individual webinars and how to subscribe for them by INCBAC Institute in advance.
  8. It is the sole responsibility of the Participant to have the means and capabilities to properly access and follow the Professional Webinars. INCBAC Institute is not responsible for any potential complications arising from the difficulty of the Participant to access the platform where the Professional Webinars will be held.
  9. INCBAC Institute is not accountable for the content of the presentations broadcasted during the Professional Webinars, being the lecturers the only ones responsible for the content presented during the Professional Webinars.

III. - DURATION OF THE UNIGOU REMOTE PROGRAM

  1. The UNIGOU Remote Program will be developed from January to April 2026. The calendar of the specific activities related to the Scientific Training, Academic Collaboration and Professional Webinars parts of the program are described in detail in the UNIGOU Remote Edital.

IV. - REGISTRATION AND REGISTRATION FEES

  1. The Registration of the Participant to the UNIGOU Remote Program is only completed upon:
       a) Submission of the completed Registration Form available online.
       b) Complete payment of a non-refundable Registration Fee of 95 Euro.
  2. INCBAC Institute will inform each participant in detail how to complete both above-mentioned steps by e-mail.
  3. Once the Registration Fee is payed and the Registration Form is submitted, the Participant is registered to the UNIGOU Remote Program and he/she will be granted access to the Scientific Training and Professional Webinars. The access to the Academic Collaboration will be granted to selected participants upon a selection process as described in Article II.B.2 above. The selection process for the Academic Collaboration is described in detail in the UNIGOU Remote Edital.
  4. The UNIGOU Remote Program is financially sustained by the Registration Fee. The Registration Fee is paid only once and it is meant to cover the expenses related to the execution of the UNIGOU Remote Program, such as processing of applications, performance of the selection process, maintenance of servers and staff, expenses related to communication and on-line platforms used within the program, etc.
  5. The payment of the Registration Fee will be done at the online payment gateway, with the use of a standard payment card. The UNIGOU Remote Program payment gateway is maintained by the international payment processing infrastructure of the Stripe technology company.

V. - CANCELLATION TERMS

  1. The Participant is not obliged to attend any scheduled activities related to the UNIGOU Remote Program. The Participant is entitled to cancel the participation in the UNIGOU Remote Program at any moment, without specifying a reason.
  2. In the case of cancelling the participation in the Academic Collaboration, the Participant is requested to inform the Supervisor of Academic Collaboration (if applicable) and INCBAC Institute secretariat by e-mail of his/her decision to cancel his/her participation. In any case, the Participant hereby understands that he/she is not entitled to get a refund of the Registration Fee.
  3. In the event of unforeseeable difficulties, INCBAC Institute reserves the right to cancel the registration of the Participant at any point before or during the UNIGOU Remote Program, without the necessity to specify a reason. If the cancelation is decided by INCBAC Institute, exclusively, the Participant is entitled to the full refund of the Registration Fee. In such case, the Registration Fee will be sent to the bank account of the Participant and the costs of the bank transfer will be shared between the sender and beneficiary (SHA). To obtain reimbursement, the Participant must provide his/her bank account data to INCBAC Institute, following the deadlines specified by INCBAC Institute.

VI. - ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS

  1. The Participant agrees to have the results related to the UNIGOU Remote Program, photos and/or testimonials produced during the program published in INCBAC official media, unless they are subject to confidentiality or protection of intellectual property.
  2. INCBAC Institute is not responsible nor liable for any complications arising from technical failures of third-party tools and systems, which may affect files, e-mail servers, availability of online content, etc. In such cases, INCBAC Institute will act on its best efforts to sort the contingencies and provide solutions within its scope of action.
  3. The communication language of the UNIGOU Remote Program is English. The communication with INCBAC Institute will be carried on exclusively by e-mail.
  4. The Participant is responsible to accurately provide INCBAC Institute all information necessary for the registration to the UNIGOU Remote Program, to correctly complete related online forms and to conduct a clear e-mail communication. The Participant is also responsible for keeping track of the information that he/she receives related to the UNIGOU Remote Program, notifying INCBAC Institute by e-mail in case of incongruous information
  5. The Participant is responsible for monitoring his/her e-mail box, including the spam box, to keep proper track of the activities related to the UNIGOU Remote Program. The Participant should consistently use only one e-mail address for communication with INCBAC Institute to avoid mishandling information.

VII. - CONSENT TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

  1. The Participant is giving INCBAC its explicit consent to, in compliance with the Regulation no. 679/2016 of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data (GDPR), processing Participant’s personal data submitted in the Registration Form related to these Terms and Conditions, to the extent necessary for the purposes of registration for the UNIGOU Remote Program.
  2. In connection with the granting of consent to the processing of personal data, the Participant has received appropriate instructions about his/her rights; in particular, the right to withdraw the consent at any time, request explanation regarding the processing of personal data, the purpose of the personal data processing, the personal data administrator as well as other subjects processing personal data and the retention period of the personal data.

VIII. - GOVERNING LAW & JURISDICTION

  1. These Terms and Conditions and any related legal relationships between the INCBAC Institute and the Participant shall be governed solely by the laws of the Czech Republic, in particular by Act No. 89/2012 Coll., The Civil Code.
  2. INCBAC Institute and the Participant undertake to resolve disputes, if possible, by an amicable settlement. If this is not possible, any disputes between the parties will be settled by the general courts of the Czech Republic.

IX. - LIABILITY

  1. In no event shall INCBAC Institute be liable for any indirect or consequential damages. INCBAC Institute’s liability for all damages is limited to the amount of the Registration Fee (95 euros).

X. - FORCE MAJEURE

  1. Neither Participant nor INCBAC Institute are responsible for not fulfilling the respective obligations hereby established for reasons caused by force majeure. In such unlikely events, INCBAC Institute is not obliged to refund the Participant of any part of the Registration Fee.
  2. The extraordinary events or circumstances caused by the force majeure prohibiting or impeding any party from performing its respective obligations are covered by Czech legislation and include especially:
    1. Serious illness, hospitalization, or death of people closely related to the execution of the UNIGOU Remote Program including Supervisors, hosts of the Professional Webinars, etc;
    2. Natural disasters affecting countries key infrastructure;
    3. Acts of state or governmental action such as, for example, sudden legal changes, declaration of State Emergencies, declaration of state of War.

XI. - FINAL PROVISIONS

  1. The Participant declares that he/she is fit to independently agree on the Terms and Conditions, considering his/her health and mental state. INCBAC Institute and the Participant declare that they are competent to act in the intentions of these Terms and Conditions with regard to the law of their country of citizenship or registration and with regard to the law of the Czech Republic.
  2. These Terms and Conditions are accepted remotely by submitting the online Registration Form of the UNIGOU Remote Program. The Participant confirms the acceptance of these Terms and Conditions by checking the related option in the Registration Form (i.e., the option: Eu li, entendi e concordei com os Terms and conditions of the UNIGOU Remote program 2026 ). The Participant declares that he/she understands the Terms and Conditions and that he/she is concluding it of his/her free will.
